Data Engineer at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority

About the job

As a data engineer in the Data and Analytics Platforms department, you play a key role in building, further developing, and managing the authority's platforms for data-driven analysis. In close collaboration with the business, you are responsible for creating robust and sustainable solutions by designing, developing, and optimizing data flows, data structures, and tools for advanced analysis within FI. You will develop and program data flows and actively contribute to the establishment and management of our new analytics platform. The role involves working with container-based development, automation, and modern development and operations principles. You will also participate in establishing scalable, reusable, and long-term sustainable solutions for data flows and integrations. To succeed in this role, you have a holistic perspective on data architecture and quality, and you are confident in making technical decisions. You are curious about new technologies and working methods and contribute with experience, judgment, and improvement suggestions in the team's joint development efforts. You work together with other competencies within FI, and collaboration takes place in cross-functional teams. Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • has solid experience in code and data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes
  • has worked with databases and data lakes
  • has excellent knowledge of Python and SQL
  • has experience with CI/CD, version control in Git, and automated testing
  • has experience with Docker/container-based development and orchestration
  • has experience with analytics platform architecture and tool selection
  • has worked as a data engineer or ML engineer
  • has good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
  • is a university/civil engineer in data or technology or has another relevant education.

It is an advantage if you:

  • have practical experience with open-source tools for data analysis such as Apache Airflow, dbt, JupyterHub, Grafana/Prometheus, or similar
  • have practical experience with AWS S3/MinIo, Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg both on-prem and in the cloud
  • have practical experience with pseudonymization/masking solutions
  • have experience from the public and/or financial sector.

The IT business area leads the strategic digitalization work, drives innovation, and is responsible for international coordination within IT. Our mission is broad, and our responsibilities range from ongoing operations, support, and security to the development and management of our systems, project management, architecture, procurement, and supplier management. About 100 people work here, distributed across 5 departments and a staff.
